Digital Advertising and Branding Meet-Up & Masterclass: Insights from Industry Experts
The Digital Advertising and Branding Meetup which was held on the 24th of May 2023 was a huge success, bringing together professionals from different industries. This event featured two speakers who shared their insights on the latest trends and best practices in digital advertising and branding. The first speaker Mr S’angelo Donga, discussed the key elements of successful branding. He started his presentation by explaining that a brand is more than just a logo or a tagline - it is the sum total of a company's values, personality, products/services, and reputation. S’angelo emphasized that companies must invest in building a strong brand identity to stand out in the highly competitive international market and build trust with their customers.
He shared some examples of successful brand strategies, including Apple's minimalist design approach and Dr. Trouble’s branding which he was a part of. S’angelo also discussed the importance of storytelling in branding and how it can help build emotional connections with customers. He explained that storytelling allows brands to communicate their values, mission, and personality in a memorable and engaging way. Moreover, S’angelo highlighted that consistency is key when it comes to branding. Companies must ensure that all their communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, advertisements, and customer service, all align with the brand identity.

Next up was the digital advertising speaker, Mr Adonis Mhlanga and he started his presentation by highlighting the importance of data-driven advertising in today's digital landscape where customers are inundated with ads and content from multiple sources.
He emphasised that marketers must use data to create targeted campaigns that resonate with their audience's interests and behaviours. Adonis also talked about the latest trends in digital advertising, including programmatic ads, native advertising, and social media advertising. We sealed off the digital advertising and branding theme by hosting our first masterclass on the 8th and 9th of June 2023 which had Adonis Mhlanga and S’angelo Donga as the speakers, and it was also a huge success.
